Rose Stein has devoted a substantial portion of her legal career to assisting persons with Disability Law and Elder Law and related issues.

Between 1993 and 1997, Ms. Stein was the Director of Legal Services for the Center for Disability and Elder Law, formerly the Legal Clinic for the Disabled, in Chicago Illinois. There, she was directly responsible for case management of the entire clinic case load, including supervising the delivery of legal clinic services by over 400 in-house and volunteer attorneys. Prior to becoming Director of Legal Services, Ms. Stein served as a staff attorney and interim director for the Legal Clinic for the Disabled, between 1990 and 1993.

Ms. Stein’s Juris Doctor degree was received from DePaul University College of Law. Her legal education was supplemented by her studies in comparative constitutional law, international human rights law and the middle-east conflict at Tel Aviv University College of Law in Tel Aviv, Israel.

As an undergraduate, Ms. Stein studied at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science in 1983. During that time, she worked as staff assistant to Senator John Norquist for a legislature internship.

Ms. Stein was a Co-Chair of the Chicago Bar Associations Young Lawyers Committee on Mental Health and Disability Law from September, 1995 through June 2000. She is also a member of the Illinois Attorney General’s Advisory Counsel for Disability Rights, the American Bar Association, and the Illinois State Bar Association.  Ms. Stein has been affiliated with  the Illinois Alliance for the Hearing Impaired, the Chicago Department on Aging, the Illinois Department of Rehabilitation Services, the Mayors Office for People with Disabilities, and the Illinois Statewide Seniors Task Force.

Since joining Marc D. Sherman and Associates, P.C. in July 1997, Ms. Stein has become a graduate of the National Institute for Trail Advocacy and has focused her efforts on litigating employment discrimination cases, civil rights claims, contract and consumer law cases, and other general civil legal matters.
